Terms of Service
The basic rules for using WTFog, tracking trips, sharing content, and using Premium features.
1. Using WTFog
These Terms are an agreement between you and Nyordre AS, organization number 934 974 670, Liankollen 11, 4638 Kristiansand, Norway. They apply to the WTFog app, websites, Premium Editor, and related services.
You can explore as a guest or create an account. Account features include syncing trips and fog, imports and exports, publishing, community features, competitions, rewards, support, and recovery review. Some features require Premium access, a supported device, internet access, or permissions such as location and notifications.
You must be at least 13 to use an account. Privacy consent and the legal capacity to enter a contract are different matters. If the law where you live requires parental authorization for these Terms or a purchase, a parent or guardian must provide it.
Keep your account secure and provide accurate information. Do not share an account in a way that defeats fair-play, purchase, or security controls.
2. Tracking, maps, and outdoor safety
WTFog can use precise and background location, motion signals, and device services to record trips and unlock fog. Tracking works only when you start it or enable a related feature and grant the required permissions. Devices, GPS, maps, batteries, networks, and background systems can be delayed or inaccurate.
WTFog is an exploration and activity service—not an emergency, navigation, medical, or safety service. Stay aware of traffic, terrain, weather, access rules, and other people. Do not operate the app when it is unsafe, trespass, or rely on WTFog to find or rescue you.
3. Trips, fog, imports, and content
You keep ownership of trips, photos, posts, messages, and other content you create. You must have the right to upload imported routes, fog data, photos, and other material. Exports can contain sensitive location history, so store and share them carefully.
Content is private unless you publish it, share it, or use a feature with a stated audience. Public content can be copied or reshared by others. When you publish content, you give WTFog a non-exclusive license to host, format, display, and distribute it only as needed to operate and promote the feature you chose. You can end that license by removing the content, subject to backups, lawful retention, and copies already shared by others.
If you delete your account, published trips may remain useful to the community under an anonymized “Deleted user” identity. Account details and other content are handled as described in the Privacy Statement.
4. Community and fair play
Be respectful in profiles, groups, chat, comments, competitions, and support. Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, spam, publish illegal content, invade privacy, distribute malware, or interfere with the service.
Do not falsify location or activity, manipulate fog, rewards, XP, leaderboards, challenges, duels, or purchases, automate actions without permission, exploit defects, or import data you do not have the right to use. We may review tracking and recovery evidence, withhold or reverse affected results or rewards, and correct obvious errors.
You can report content or conduct through the available reporting or support tools. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend an account when reasonably needed for safety, law, security, fair play, or a material breach of these Terms. When appropriate, we will explain the action and provide a way to ask for review. We do not promise a fixed investigation or suspension period.
6. Your account and deletion
You may stop using WTFog at any time. You can export your data, reset activity data, or request account deletion from the app’s Privacy settings. Deletion removes account-linked data from active systems according to the Privacy Statement, while limited backups expire on their normal cycle and anonymized published trips may remain.
We may end or restrict the service or an account where reasonably necessary, including for serious or repeated breaches, security risks, legal requirements, fraud, or non-payment. Mandatory notice and consumer rights still apply.
7. Service limits and changes
WTFog depends on third-party maps, platforms, stores, authentication, notifications, analytics, advertising, and purchase services. Features can change or be unavailable because of maintenance, device limits, provider changes, law, or events outside our reasonable control.
We provide the service with reasonable care, but do not promise uninterrupted operation, perfect location accuracy, permanent storage, or a particular result. To the extent allowed by law, Nyordre AS is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses. We do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, personal injury, or mandatory consumer remedies.
We may update these Terms when the service, law, or business changes. Material changes will be announced reasonably in advance when required. Existing users can continue under applicable law; new acceptance is requested only when needed. Changes do not remove rights that have already accrued.
8. Law and contact
Norwegian law governs these Terms, without removing mandatory protection available in your country of residence. Courts or consumer bodies with mandatory jurisdiction remain available.
Questions, reports, and appeals can be sent to support@wtfog.no. Privacy questions are covered by the Privacy Statement.
